Hi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteDid you have a particular Technology tool or hardware in mind? The process for open source software sounds great. I see advertised on television a “Square Card” seems to fit with the technology process that you mentioned. The hardware with the technology is used by retailers and businesses. The card with the loaded software information is used by customers and purchasers. Digitally the account data is assimilated and transferred to the account and the transaction is complete. This is advertised to be reliable, efficient, current and safe.
Technologies for reading in the classroom for easy accessing to the World Wide Web , online library and the internet resources would be great for students K-12. This would motivate readers with opportunity to browse reading materials, author and content level. Greater accessing for reliable resource can be done with teacher assistance and relevant technology supported by renowned universities and colleges.
Hi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteBefore I got an android smartphone, I was limited in apps I could download on my phone. Since I got it, I could have everything I do available at the touch of an widget such as mobile banking (I can even scan a check with my phone and deposit it), a weight/exercise tracker I use, my church, games and so forth. More apps are being developed for use in K-12 education as well. I don't teach in that genre so I haven't used any, but the future possibilities are endless for mobile devices and applications that are accessed through them.

Hey Rachel. I agree that the ‘app’ technology offered by mobile devices makes it easier and quicker to browse the Internet. For instance, on my iPhone or iPad, instead of having to go through Safari and type in the Web address of Wells Fargo (my bank), I can just click on the Wells Fargo app that I was able to download for free to access my account information. It’s less time consuming than having to go through the search engine, and this is a plus/advantage that mobile devices have over its predecessors (i.e. computers). There seems to be an ‘app’ for everyone… it’s an amazing technology!
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, some apps cause you to have to carry less ‘stuck around. For instance, I no longer carry my bible and a notebook to church; instead I have both functions on my iPad. As the pastor is reading scripture, I am reading along on my iPad, which has a free Bible app. Additionally, instead of using a notebook to take notes of the message, I use my iPad to type my notes; and then I upload my notes to Facebook for others to review.
Good post!
